He has won two SM golds with Växjö.
In May, Andrew Calof signed a contract with German Schwenningen – which he now breaks for games in the KHL.
Canadian Andrew Calof is a well-known name in the SHL. The forward has represented both Skellefteå and Växjö Lakers, where he celebrated great success in the latter club.
Won two SM golds
The 31-year-old played a part in winning two SM golds, in 2018 and 2021, with Växjö – where he was a strong contributor during both golden years. In total, he scraped together 93 points in the seasons he had to lift the dent, but left Växjö this spring.
Instead, the right forward signed in May for the German DEL club Schwenningen. An agreement that Andrew Calof is now breaking. Instead, he has been introduced as a new player for KHL team Amur Khabarovsk – his second stint in the league.
“It’s about money”
– This player needs no further introduction. 76 points in two seasons in the KHL speaks for itself. Calof can both create scoring chances and score on them, says Amur Khabarovsk’s sporting director to the club’s website.
The reporter Wimösterer Martin, who covers German ice hockey, writes on his Twitter account that the breakup with Schwenningen is money-related.
“It’s wild, and it’s about money,” he writes, among other things, in a post.
