England are European football champions for the first time ever. When the home team met Germany at Wembley Stadium in the final, it was a real overtime thriller.
The first half was goalless. The first goal came after just over an hour when Ella Thun scored 1-0 for England. Germany’s Lina Magull equalized at the end of the second half and the match went to extra time.
With just over 10 minutes left in extra time, Chole Kelly scored for England and became the hero of the match in front of a record crowd.
