Curled sickle moss appears after 150 years in Tienhoven So

What is no mystery is that the conditions in the Eastern Binnenpolder are apparently ideal for the moss species. “It is special that it is 150 years ago that this curled sickle moss was last found in this area,” says van ‘t Wout. “But what is perhaps even more special is that it tells a fantastic story. That the measures to restore the vibrating peat have worked. That is hopeful, because vibrating peats are vulnerable and very rare. In many places it is not possible to maintain this.”
