The number of coronavirus cases has started to sound the alarm again. Especially in recent days, the increase in the number of Kovid-19 cases continues with the effect of Omicron and its sub-variants of the coronavirus. Experts stated that if the increase continues like this, it will be on the agenda to take measures again, and the results of the latest research drew attention.
PROPOSAL TO EXTEND THE QUARANTINE PERIOD
According to the news in Milliyet; In the study published by the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, 12 healthcare workers, 90 percent of whom were infected with the Omicron variant of the coronavirus, were examined. The stages of the virus on the 5th, 7th, 10th and 14th days were observed in all patients who showed symptoms and survived them, and it was determined that the positivity rate gradually decreased. The researchers, who determined that the virus carrier continued even in people who stated that their symptoms were gone, suggested that the isolation period be extended to 10 days in healthcare workers who were in contact with people in the risk group.
In the normalization process, which was entered with the relief in the first period of Omicron, the quarantine period in Turkey was withdrawn up to 7 days. In the current practice, anyone who has a negative test on the 5th day of quarantine can end their quarantine.
