So far, approximately 40,000 refugees have come to Sweden from wartime Ukraine. Many are expected to remain in Sweden longer than previously thought.
This means increased costs for the reception of people in need of protection. According to the Swedish Migration Agency’s new forecast, an additional seven billion kroner is needed in compensation next year.
