MeinMMO is looking for an author (m/f/d) in the home office for gaming

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

We are looking for reinforcements in our team with immediate effect. You can now apply for a job at MeinMMO to write news, analyzes and specials independently from your home office. The topic is gaming in the broader sense.

Who we are looking for: You should have a good understanding of gaming, especially online gaming. Interested in trends in the industry, comfortable in gaming communities and willing to learn new aspects of gaming.

After that we look:

  • you always know what the gaming bubble is talking about on twitter, twitch and reddit
  • you are good at explaining things to others. Why is GTA 5 Online the biggest game on Twitch again after 8 years? Why is Escape from Tarkov trending once every six months? Why the heck is Among Us suddenly dominating the gaming world?
  • you are interested in what moves the German community in particular. You know who the biggest German streamers and YouTubers in the field of gaming are
  • you are familiar with reddit, twitter and resetera to inform yourself and hear what moves the community
  • you are willing to reflect on criticism of your work, accept it and continue to develop your writing
  • it is an advantage if you already have experience: your own blog, your own streaming channel or work for another website could be included. But this is not a requirement for the position.
  • You enjoy writing and have an interest in journalistic work
  • You are not afraid of topics that seem unusual at first glance: You are just as confident in an article about “Ikea showing new gaming furniture” as you are in an article about the fact that 70% of women hide their gender online
  • you are curious about new games and new topics
  • We would like to fill the position as quickly and efficiently as possible. Maybe with you.

Danger: This position is intended for self-employed employees. It is not a permanent position.

    That’s the job

You will become part of our editorial team and help to design our reporting. We are grateful for suggestions and input on how we can improve reporting on online gaming and gaming communities. It is important to us that you put the readers first and that you consider which articles are really interesting and important for our community.

This time we are not looking for someone for a fixed game, but someone who can write about different games or gaming topics.

    The task field:

  • You write articles in the extended subject area “Gaming” (news, analyses, opinions, community interviews)
  • You search independently for exciting topics that you implement as an article. Here you get support from the editors
  • You engage with analytics tools like Google Trends to see what the gaming community is really interested in right now. You don’t need any prior knowledge here. The editors can provide you with this information
  • You coordinate with the editors which articles you write
  • You accept commissions from the editors
  • You will receive feedback on your articles from the editors and implement them accordingly
  • You can optionally take part in workshops that we offer in the field of online and gaming journalism
