A woman in her 80s died of sepsis (blood poisoning) after being sent home from the health center, reports P4 Gothenburg. When the woman sought care last summer, the doctor discovered bacteria in her blood, but sent her home without treatment.
The following days her condition worsened and she was taken to hospital. Then the infection was so serious that the treatment did not help and the woman died.
The incident has been reported to the Inspectorate for Care and Care.
