Citing rising cases of COVID-19, four primary care sites in Chatham-Kent are asking patients and caregivers to wear masks to in-person appointments.
A news release from July 26 said patients at Tilbury District Family Health Team, Chatham-Kent Family Health Team, Thamesview Family Health Team and Chatham-Kent Community Health Center need to wear a mask when visiting these sites.
“As COVID-19 cases continue to rise, primary care wants to ensure the safest experience for patients, physicians and staff during appointments,” the release, sent by the Chatham-Kent Ontario Health Team, said.
“Also, patients are asked to report any COVID-like symptoms when booking the appointment, or upon arrival, so that staff may prepare for the visit accordingly.”
These symptoms could include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath, decreased loss of smell or taste and two or more of runny nose and nasal congestion, headache, extreme fatigue, sore throat, muscle aches or joint paint and vomiting or diarrhea.
Patients who have questions may contact their family doctor or nuse practitioner’s office.
