Sono Motors, which started to make a name for itself with the early stages of electric car development, is now ready for its first mass production model after five years of adventure. Announcing that it has completed the long-term development and production work for the Sion model, the startup officially introduced the version of the vehicle that will reach the end user hours ago. Sono Sion, which has the potential to differentiate itself from today’s competition thanks to the solar panels it brings as a standard, stands out as a very efficient model in technical terms. According to the data shared by the brand, the vehicle has the infrastructure to meet the range gain of up to 112 kilometers in weekly use with solar panels.

When we look at the technical characteristics of Sion on the basis of mass production, our eyes are first drawn to the range and battery side with the return of solar panels. The model, in which a 54 kWh battery is positioned as standard, is capable of covering a range of up to 305 kilometers through this package. Sion, which also offers fast charging support up to 75 kW, will require one-fourth less charge in urban usage than a normal electric car, with the effect of solar panels, according to the brand. On the engine side, there is a single unit for now. This engine, which produces 163 PS power and 270 Nm torque, is at a level that can meet the expectations of users. Compared to the first prototype versions, the Sion has been brought to a point where it can offer a much larger living space in the cockpit, both outside and inside. The pre-order process has been started in Germany with a price of 25,126 euros, and the production of the model will be carried out in Finland.
