Joint barbecue evenings and game nights, or perhaps a training session or a flea market together with the neighbour?
If you want any of the above, you are not alone, according to a survey commissioned by the Swedish Real Estate Agency. It shows that only five out of ten Swedes have a good relationship with their neighbors today, while seven out of ten wish that neighborly relations were better.
– It is believed that you lack a common ground, and that you may not have any natural contexts in which to meet, says Erik Wikander, vice president of Swedish real estate agency, about the report.
The report also shows that young people’s fear of neighbors is worse than older people’s. Of those under 30, only 30 percent have a good or very good relationship with their neighbours. The same figure for those over 60 is 64 percent.
