Tired of its dating apps that make you swipe constantly? A new trend is emerging: highlighting the voice.
New apps are emerging that focus on more authentic, voicemail-centric encounters. The voice is a means of sharing more intimate information and discovering a person without hiding behind a written, less spontaneous message.
Communicate by voice messages
VoiceMeet, a brand new French application, offers to communicate only by voice messages. On the application, no written messages, just voice and photos. The voice allows an exposure that is not always possible with written messages and this is what appeals to users.
The idea of Voice Meet is to facilitate the user experience. The description is also completely vocal. They can choose one or more themes, “your ideal date”, “two lies and one truth”, “your favorite movie line” for example and record their responses. The profile is one of the first reasons why users abandon the creation of an account, so it is important to accompany them towards something more playful.
No “match” but voice messages
Still to move away from the reproaches traditionally made to the best known dating applications, there is no “match” on Voice Meet. If you like someone, you can directly send them a voice message. The conversation will begin the moment she answers you.
Other voicemail-based dating apps exist. Voxlov offers to listen to a five-second audio before unlocking the person’s photo, the chat will start after a “match”. SwoonMe offers scrolling avatars and voice messages, a “match” will unlock the messaging option and allow the user to share their photo if they wish.
Dating app users are increasingly looking for authenticity rather than “match” excessively which does not lead to a conclusive discussion. The voice seems to be a new alternative that offers a little more sincerity.
