Last year’s edition of the tantra festival in Molkom in Värmland led to more than a hundred people becoming infected with covid – and the country’s border with Norway being closed due to the infection. The storm of criticism came soon after.

Now the festival is underway again, reports SVT Värmland. Ida Freyschuss, CEO of Ängsbacka kursgård, which organizes the festival, believes that last year’s uproar has led to increased interest, as more people have opened their eyes to tantra.

However, this year’s festival is being held on a smaller scale with fewer participants and a greater focus on safety.

– We have developed the tantra week with activities that maintain much more distance than during a normal year, not during the pandemic but in the past, which are not based as much on intimacy etc. We have done a lot and feel that we have learned a lot, says Ida Freyschuss to SVT.
