Sweden will face England on Tuesday in the EC semi-final at Bramall Lane in Sheffield. Ahead of the match, there are a couple of question marks in the Swedish camp. Kosovar Asllani trained on Monday after a two-day absence. She is ready to start against England in the EC semi-final.
– I am more than ready, says Asllani.
The only two Swedish players who did not train with the rest of the national team on Monday were fullback Jonna Andersson, who previously tested positive for covid-19, and forward Olivia Schough, who did not train with the others after the quarter-finals.
Cryptic message
The national team captain Peter Gerhardsson now gives a cryptic message before the semi-finals.
– There were 21 out of 23 in training, and two were not there. Tomorrow we’ll see, that’s the information I have, says Gerhardsson and continues:
– They (Andersson and Schough) will be here, so we’ll see if they’re available tomorrow.
When asked where Andersson and Schough are now, the answer is:
– I don’t know if they are at the hotel or out walking. I’m sitting here, I don’t have a camera on them. They are supposed to be here, but we (Gerhardsson, press officer Fredrik Madestam, Kosovare Asllani and Magdalena Eriksson) went ahead to get here.
Sweden plays on Tuesday in the semi-finals against England in the EC. The match is broadcast on TV4 and streamed on cmore.se. Kick-off is at 21:00.
