VINGEGAARD. By winning his very first Tour de France at the age of 25, Jonas Vingegaard entered into the legend of his country.
Jonas Vingegaard, on the podium last year in the Tour de France, won his very first Tour de France on Sunday July 24. However, the Dane was not predestined to be a runner. 19-year-old Jonas Vingegaard is not yet a professional cyclist and his career is slow to “take off”. The Dane then forged a character by working in a fish factory on the port of Hanstholm. This activity lasts two years where he works from six in the morning until noon. This environment was not completely foreign to Jonas Vingegaard since his father, Claus Vingegaard is a builder of salmon farms in Norway.
A report by DR, Denmark’s public broadcaster, in 2017 showed a then 19-year-old Jonas Vingegaard cutting and packing fish. “It’s because I like having something to do. It’s good to do something other than cycling…and it’s not too hard to finish at 12 every day. I know that if you participate in the World Tour, it’s impossible to have a job on the side… At the moment, I’m just happy to have something else to do than cycling”.

Biography Jonas Vingegaard. Jonas Vingegaard was born on December 10, 1996. Rider for the Jumbo-Visma team, he is one of the “stars” with Wout Van Aert, Tom Dumoulin or Primoz Roglic.
