Veenendaal only wants to use the elongated building on Wageningselaan for a short period of time for reception: the refugees can stay there until 1 October 2022. The so-called crisis emergency shelter is intended to relieve the overcrowded application center in Ter Apel. Earlier, a request had already been made from the central government to provide temporary shelter places. The Municipality of Veenendaal is responding to this in this way.
