AgMedica products certified by European Union

A Chatham cannabis producer’s dry flower has been cleared by a European Union regulator, opening up a new market for the company.

A news release from Chatham’s AgMedica said the European Union Good Manufacturing Practices certification “is the highest recognition available to companies in the pharmaceutical space.”

The certification is given to companies that can follow guidelines to ensure their products are safe for human consumption, the release said.

“This certification is an essential piece needed to export EU GMP certified pharmaceutical grade medical cannabis to importers and distributors in international markets that require EU GMP certification, allowing for global expansion,” according to AgMedica.

AgMedica has partnered with enua Pharma, a German-based distributor and manufacturer of medical cannabis. The release said the partnership will help enua Pharma meet a “growing demand” of cannabis in Germany.

“This partnership will help us to strengthen our position as the largest cannabis distributor in Germany,” Lars Möhring, CEO, enua Pharma GmbH, said in the release.

“Under our own enua brand, we will commercialize cannabis with high potency and rich of terpenes, to meet the patients’ needs which are unmet as of today.”

The release said AgMedica is one of few fully-indoor grow facilities that have achieved these standards.
