Mobile coverage is good on around half of the busiest railway lines in Sweden, according to PTS.
The Center Party therefore wants the Swedish Transport Administration’s own GSM network along the rails to be opened to commercial operators.
– It is relatively easy to open that network and for the mobile operators to place a mast some distance from the rails so that you can connect to the network, says Mikael Larsson, Member of Parliament for C and member of the traffic committee.
He sees no major risk of congestion if the network is expanded.
