The mop fan Anders in Piteå is passionate about his hobby

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

When the garage door opens to Anders Westerberg’s garage, you immediately see which hobby he likes the most. There are thirteen fine refurbished mopeds from different eras.

But it is not all the mopeds that he has – the others are in various storage rooms and a playhouse on the grounds. In total, he owns a little over 30 pieces.

The favorite is an identical one from childhood

The favorite is a red three-speed Puch Florida from 1968 that looks like the moped he himself had when he was young. He has tried to find the original from his childhood, but it turned out to have been scrapped.

But there is also love for many other of his treasures in the garage at home in Piteå.

– This is a very nice hobby because they don’t take up much space and I have always been interested in screwing and restoring them to their original condition.

“Putting in far too many hours”

He is also chairman of Pite moppers with 165 members and over 300 mopeds, so the time he spends on these mopeds and the club is probably “just the first name”.

– I put in far too many hours, says Westerberg and laughs heartily.

– Now I’ve been retired for a few years now, so it will probably be even more now.

August 13th is Moped Day at Rådhustorget in Piteå where they celebrate the moped’s 70th birthday. It is the 20th time that the association celebrates the day. There you will be able to look at many fine mopeds from different decades.
