Police and social services miss many children and young people who are exploited in the sex trade, reports Sweden’s Radio Ekot with reference to a new report from the Crime Prevention Council (Brå).
In order to correct the shortcomings, a more extensive preventive and outreach work is required, Brå believes.
There is a special method developed to find more crime victims in this group. But according to Ekot’s review, this is only used in two of the country’s seven police regions.
