draft peace agreement
Another development in Doha: a new draft peace agreement was submitted to the two parties. The 15-page document enacts a ceasefire, the restitution of property confiscated by the state or the disarmament program.
While some rebel groups intend to sign the text as it is, others point to differences, particularly on issues concerning the organizing committee for inclusive dialogue deemed too close to power or the release of prisoners. They have three days to study the text and amend it.
In a note that RFI was able to consult, the Qatari mediator informs that a signing ceremony for the peace agreement will be organized the first week of August. He invites the politico-military groups present in Doha to confirm or not their participation in this ceremony.
