Eight years after The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, we return to the world of JRR Tolkien with the new series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. A 3-minute trailer has now been released at Comic-Con in San Diego, giving a greater glimpse into the fantasy series’ epic effort and storyline (and… a balrog indicates!).

What is The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power about?
The three parts of The Lord of the Rings can be summed up fairly easily: Frodo embarks on a journey to destroy the Ring. This is not possible in this form with the new series. she plays several thousand years before the events of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins and will address milestones in the so-called Second Age, which in itself was almost 3,500 years long. The series is coming September 2nd 2022 to Amazon Prime Video and is supposed to start with two long episodes like a Lord of the Rings feature film. Directed by JA Bayona (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom). The plan for the series envisages a total of five seasons. The full production cost is said to exceed $1 billion, making it the most expensive series ever.
