There is a name that the world is talking about with his recent rise in the billionaires ranking; Indian billionaire Gautam Adani. According to Bloomberg’s report, Adani became the fourth richest person in the world, displacing Bill Gates. Adani’s net worth rose to $112.5 billion on Thursday, beating Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates by $230 million, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
GATE GOES TO DONATE, ADANI RISES
The Indian businessman has added more to his fortune ($36 billion) this year than anyone else. While Gates’ donations and the sale of technology stocks were one of the reasons for the decline in the ranking, this affected Adani’s rise.
Gates recorded earlier this month that he had donated $20 billion to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
ARRIVED NEARLY ALL IN THE LAST TWO YEARS
Gautam Adani, who left the university in the late 1980s and started out with an agri-trade firm, amassed almost all of his wealth in the last two years. Adani is rapidly diversifying its strategy with green energy, airports, data centers, digital services and media, in line with that of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Gautam Adani currently ranks fourth with a net worth of $115 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Tesla CEO Elon Musk ($242 billion) is in the first place of the ranking, Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon ($ 148 billion), is in the second place, and French businessman Bernard Arnault ($ 137 billion) is in the third place.
