The mosquito and the burglar… This is not a fable, but a real police investigation that took place last month in eastern China. A police report was published these days, and it was the insect that helped to arrest the thief.

The little witnesses died at the crime scene, but they ended up talking anyway. According to the report released by the Fuzhou Public Security Bureau, it was around 1 p.m. on June 11 when a hoist broke into an apartment in a residential complex in the capital of the eastern province of Fujian.
The burglar got his hands on several valuables, reports the Global Timesbefore cooking an egg with instant noodles, then spending the night quietly at the scene of his package.
When the police arrived, the door was closed from the inside, points out the South China Morning Post. The thief had just flown away by where he had arrived, namely the balcony.
The blood of mosquitoes
On the spot, no clue, except two red marks on the walls of the living room which had just been repainted. Two mosquitoes crushed with one hand, annoyed it seems, without the owners having taken the time to wipe the slate clean? Intrigued, the investigators had the blood pumped by the mosquitoes analyzed.
And the DNA spoke, referring to a character known to the police who confessed everything. The mosquitoes were praised for a long time on social networks, with also an avalanche of amused comments, advising the thief to wear a protective suit against Covid-19 next time, so as not to leave traces.
