As seen in the video below, Warholm hits the eighth fence. The runner’s rhythm gets a little mixed up.
The ME man’s total coagulation aroused astonishment, even though Warholm came to the World Cup from a difficult starting point.
Warhom injured his back at the beginning of June in the Diamond League competition held in Rabat, Morocco. The Norwegian left the race after the first fence. After that, he was on a six-week break from competition.
Warholm denied to NRK that the sudden collapse of the World Cup final was caused by the hamstrings. The reason was a feature characteristic of running a track lap: lactic acids.
– This was not my best day. Of course I’m disappointed, Warholm commented.
– Lactic acid hit me after the eighth fence. I went to win. No amount of training for six weeks will help. When acids strike, there’s nothing you can do about it.
Warholm hit the eighth fence, after which the rhythm of his run was totally messed up. For a while it even looked like Warholm had re-injured his hamstring.
According to Warholm, the hamstring is in good condition.
However, recovering from a hamstring injury did damage to training before the World Championships.
– I’ve been lucky before. This is now just acceptable.
