Boeing Research and Global Technology Vice President José Enrique Román and Sabancı University Secretary General Ali Çalışkan as well as Boeing Middle East Research and Technology Director Juan Carlos Campbell attended the signing ceremony held at the Composite Technologies Center of Excellence in Technopark Istanbul. Vice Chancellor for Development Prof. Dr. Mehmet Yıldız, Academic Director of SU-TÜMER Assoc. Dr. Burcu Saner Okan, SU-TÜMER CEO Devrim Özaydın and partners, faculty members and researchers who took part in the projects participated.
With the signed Memorandum of Understanding, it is aimed that Sabancı University and Boeing develop new projects for the aviation industry. With the agreement, which aims to meet the increasing needs of the aviation industry both in Turkey and globally, it is also aimed to increase cooperation for the development of advanced composite materials in aviation. In this context, especially competitive thermoplastic composites in terms of cost and efficient energy production, thermoplastic composites functionalized with nanomaterials and structural health monitoring processes were determined as the main areas that this mutual cooperation will focus on. “
