It was at 22.31 that the police received an alarm about an accident in Nässjö. A man in his 45s had been hit by a train near Badhusvägen in Nässjö, at the height of Handskerydssjön.
The man must not be a resident of Jönköping County. According to the police, he was in the company of another person who survived unharmed.
– The man must have bothered across the track when the accident happened, says Erik Creutz, duty officer at the police in the East region.
The next of kin have been notified. There is no suspicion of crime.
