The trial after the act at Malmö Latin School will begin on Wednesday.
An 18-year-old student is accused of having killed two female teachers.
– He will unreservedly admit murder in both cases, says lawyer Anders Elison P4 Malmöhus.
The trial is expected to last four days and will begin with the chamber prosecutor Johanna Liljeblad presenting her case.
She has previously described the state of evidence against the 18-year-old as good.
– He has admitted several times during the investigation. He maintains that recognition and has told of what he has done.
One of the big question marks is whether the 18-year-old can be sentenced to prison or should have forensic psychiatric care. The first minor forensic psychiatric assessment is that he may have suffered from a serious mental disorder in the act. If this is the case, there is a prison ban.
Two teachers were killed
It was on March 21 this year that the 18-year-old, armed with an ax and a knife, went up the stairs to the third floor of Malmö Latin School. There, a female teacher in her 50s was attacked. According to the indictment, he aimed a blow at the woman’s stomach, head and neck.
Another teacher – also in his 50s – discovers what is happening and escapes into a classroom. Then the 18-year-old breaks into the room and also stabs her repeatedly. Both women died from their injuries.
There was a trigger point
The 18-year-old’s lawyer Anders Elison has previously said that the 18-year-old felt mentally ill for a long time and that there was a trigger point that triggered the murders.
A poorly executed practice run must have been the triggering factor.
“I have a very, very difficult time defeating,” the 18-year-old himself said in a police interrogation.
According to the indictment, prosecutors and lawyers want parts of the trial to take place behind closed doors.
