In addition to seven evenings with six pulsating dance floors and 82 dance bands, there is a huge program to choose from. Alongside the dance itself.
Song festival, masquerade and motor enthusiasts’ Västerdalsträff are just a selection.
– We are here because there are so many events around Dance Band Week. This is a part. The cars are so insanely well maintained, says Katarina Erkes.
In the heart of Malung are hundreds of vehicles and craft – of all kinds.
Some are pure antiques. Many testify to surviving difficulties.
A salmon-brown Chevrolet Bel Air absorbs the sun. So clean that you can reflect in it.
– I came across it as a renovation object and then I have renovated it myself for a few years, says Janne Hellström proudly.

For Emma, the premiere is in place, while he is a veteran.
– I have been with x number of times before. It is a very nice atmosphere. Alltihop. It’s good up here … and quite close to going here, Mattias says.
But it’s not just fun – we also come across benefits. Ukrainian Andriy Rebryk uses his 1959 Chrysler Imperial to raise money for Ukraine.
– It is one of only 555 manufactured. I use it to raise money for the Ukrainian army.
What do you think of Dance Band Week?
– Now that the pandemic is over, people must have fun. It has been a difficult year. This is how you can help Ukraine as well, where very tragic scenes take place, says Andriy Rebryk.
