Brant’s medical officer of health has issued a heat warning.
Hot and humid conditions are expected Tuesday and Wednesday.
Daytime high temperatures reaching near 31C with Humidex values in the upper thirties are expected.
Tuesday’s overnight low near 20C will provide little relief from the heat.
Slightly cooler temperatures are expected on Thursday.
A heat warning is issued when Environment and Climate Change Canada forecasts two consecutive days with a maximum daily temperature of 31C or higher during the day and a minimum temperature of 21C or higher in the evening, or a Humidex of 40C or higher.
Everyone is at risk from heat, especially older adults, infants and young children, people who work or exercise in the heat, and those with certain medical conditions.
Symptoms of heat-related illness my include extreme thirst and decreased urination, dizziness or fainting, rapid breathing, nausea or vomiting, and rapid heartbeat.
Those who experience any of these symptoms during extreme heat should immediately move to a cool place, drink water and seek medical attention.

- Splash pads at 70 Anderson Rd., Bridle Path Park (55 Palomino Dr.), Harmony Square (89 Dalhousie St.), Mohawk Park Sprinklemania (51 Lynnwood Dr.) and Tutela Park (160 Erie Ave.)
- Wayne Gretzky Sports Center, 254 North Park St. Admission rates apply.
