Bitter Twitch streamer criticizes Blizzard for everything

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

Asmongold is considered both the biggest fan and the biggest critic of World of Warcraft. In recent years, he has always found a lot to complain about. Now, however, the Twitch streamer is excited about the new Dragonflight expansion – mainly thanks to the Rufer.

Who is the streamer?

MeinMMO editor Benedict Grothaus was also able to play the Rufer for 7 hours and is thrilled. Gameplay for the new class can be seen here:

Dracthyr Callers inspire Asmongold with special abilities

Here’s how Asmongold reacts to Dragonflight: During the Dragonflight Alpha, Asmongold was able to get an idea of the Caller of the Dracthyr. He slowly gets to know more and more skills of the class.

During his stream, Asmongold tried out the caller for several hours and he called them “badass” several times.

The reactions of the streamer are cut together in a short clip. Several expressions of astonishment follow, such as: “Jesus!” or: “Holy shit!” Asmongold is clearly as excited as a child with a new toy and is continually surprised by the scope:

What makes Rufer so special? The new class descends from the dragons from WoW and therefore comes with special abilities. For example, they can “empower” some of their spells, meaning they charge longer to increase their effectiveness.

With 2 specializations, Callers can either deal damage or heal and draw on iconic Dragonflight abilities. They use the time magic of the bronze dragons or the cleansing flames of the red dragonflight.

Asmongold is particularly fond of Deep Breath, an ability known from black dragons like Onyxia. The Dracthyr fly forward in a devastating flight, dealing great damage as they do so.

Her movement is also unique. For example, Dracthyr can fly freely, similar to Dragonflight’s new Dragon Ride feature. In the video you can see more about the new feature:

WoW needs more “evergreen features”

In another video on YouTube, Asmongold talks about what WoW has done badly in the past addons and what Dragonflight should now improve. In his view, one point is particularly important, “borrowed power”.

In the past it happened too often that an expansion was only about one feature – such as the garrison in WoD or the pacts in Shadowlands. Everything was geared towards that and got further away from the game, but went away again after the expansion.

Dragonflight focuses more on what WoW already has and makes it better. In an interview with Product Director Pat Dawson, this MeinMMO explained why Dragonflight does not use such systems:

What we’ve done in the past with add-on specific power was very tied to the addon in question. Overall there was some good stuff and some trouble […] and what we want to achieve with Dragonflight is to bring something that is more “evergreen”. Something that fundamentally changes how you interact with your class and is not just related to the expansion. That’s how we came up with things like the talent system.

Incidentally, in an interview with Game Director Ion Hazzikostas, the colleagues at GameStar talked about other exciting topics related to Dragonflight.

Other changes include the revised UI or the crafting system – things that you can build on in later addons. Asmongold also speaks in his video that such “evergreen” content is better for WoW than changes that only affect a small part of the players or disappear again.

If you want to see Dragonflight for yourself, you can take part in the tests before the release until the end of 2022. There will be a beta and an alpha is currently running. You can still register for all tests.
