It was in mid-June this year that the man came driving on county road 345 with a truck and trailer. Witnesses are said to have seen the journey and told that the man drove hesitantly across the road and that he commuted sharply at speed. From being at a standstill at certain moments, to driving at up to 90 kilometers per hour.
A woman met the truck as she was driving along the road with her car and horse-drawn carriage. She says that the truck crew drove very fast and was close to colliding with her, even though she tried to swerve to the side as much as possible.
The court considers that the driver has been guilty of aggravated drunk driving and gross negligence in traffic and thus sentences him to four months’ imprisonment for the offenses.
