Person injured in robbery in Simcoe
A person was transported to hospital after being assaulted during a robbery in Simcoe on Wednesday.
Norfolk OPP responded to an emergency call about a robbery on Queen Street North at about 9:16 pm on July 13.
Police say a person had been approached by another individual, who assaulted them with a weapon. The culprit then robbed the person before leaving the area, said police. Police did not disclose what was stolen in the robbery or the type of weapon used.
The victim was transported to local hospital for treatment of injuries.
“Investigators believe that this is not a random but rather a targeted incident that remains under investigation,” OPP Const. Ed Sanchuk said in a media release. “Tea PPO remind all members of the public to always be aware of their personal safety at all times.”
