After a 14-year-old girl died in the ride Cobra at Tivoli Friheden in Aarhus, Denmark, it is permanently closed.
– The accident is deeply tragic, and it affects both me and my colleagues very much, says Henrik Ragborg Olesen, CEO of Tivoli Friheden.
It was not the first time that an accident occurred in Cobra, which is a kind of roller coaster with hanging carriages. In 2008, four people were injured when the attraction was new. It was then shut down for several months.
The fatal accident has raised many questions about how it could go so wrong. The police have announced that there will be a long investigation.
In the player above, the CEO answers the question of whether the carousel had been handled properly or not in connection with the accident.
