Participant is suing one of the most popular Netflix shows

Netflix has expanded into the reality sector in recent years. One of the streaming service’s most popular shows in this area is Love Is Blind, which premiered in 2020 and earlier this year returned for a 2nd season. Now a former participant raises serious allegations.

Jeremy Hartwell, who appeared in Season 2, reports from “inhuman working conditions”as Variety summarizes. His lawsuit is against Netflix and the production company Kinetic Content. Hartwell also sued Delirium TV, which did the lovemaking blind casting on behalf of Kinetic Content.

Lawsuit against Netflix: In the reality show Love is blind, the participants are exploited

According to Hartwell, the participants are pushed to their limits by a lack of sleep. Access to personal contacts is denied, just like to enough food and water. Alcohol, on the other hand, is in excess. The pay is below the minimum wage in Los Angeles County, where Season 2 was filmed.

Participants receive $1,000 for one week. However, since they have to work up to 20 hours a day, this results in an hourly wage of only US$7.14. It lies well below the $15 hourly ratethat are required by law in Los Angeles County. In addition, after leaving the show, Hartwell spent several days recovering from the terrible conditions on the set.

Netlix has not yet commented on the allegations and the lawsuit. Season 3 of Love is Blind is already turned off (This time production took place in Dallas, Texas) and is scheduled to premiere before the end of the year.
