Jedi: Fallen Order, Titanfall, and Apex Legends developer Respawn Entertainment is looking for people who can work on a single-player project.
Respawn Entertainment’s recent job postings point to a new single-player FPS game. There are also messages that the game will take place in the same universe as Apex Legends. They are looking for developers to work for the game they describe as a single player adventure.
A new FPS game is in development in the Apex Legends universe
in the job posting “This new single-player game is a developer’s dream workplace with the freedom to innovate whatever the unique universe he lives in makes possible,” they explained. It is not yet known whether the project is linked to the single-player project that Respawn confirmed they were working on last year.
The company reported earlier this year that it’s making a first-person shooter built around the principles of “mobility and style.” However, this new game will not be a sequel to Titanfall. Although its principles are reminiscent of Titanfall, this project is based on a different universe.
In January, it was announced that Mohammad Alavi, the director of this unannounced project, has left Respawn. He previously worked as a narrative director on Titanfall games and Apex Legends. He also designed the “All Ghillied Up” mission, one of the iconic Call of Duty missions, while working at Infinity Ward.
Respawn’s parent company EA also reported that they are working on three different Star Wars projects this year. One of them will be the sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor. The second project will be a new Star Wars FPS game directed by Peter Hirschmann, one of the developers of Medal of Honor, and the third will be a Star Wars strategy game made by Bit Reactor studio, a former employee of Firaxis Games, which develops XCOM, Civilization games.
