Two people have been found in the water after a suspected boat accident west of Strömstad.
– We have found wreckage after probably a sailboat and also found two people in the water, says Lina Toresson at the Swedish Maritime Administration’s sea and air rescue center to TT.
– Two people have been found, it is critical for both, they have been transported to the health service.
According to Norwegian media, the two people were apparently lifeless when they were found.
A large rescue operation is underway
It is an unresolved situation where several people have been alerted in the water. We are working to get it clarified and an explanation of what may have happened, says Vincent Roos, rescue leader at the Main Rescue Center to NRK.
A major rescue operation is underway from both the Norwegian and Swedish sides.
– Our task right now is to search for more to rule out that there are more people who need help, says Lina Toresson.
