The singer, who died on July 23, 2011 at just 27 years old, will be the subject of a biopic called Back to Black (in reference to the artist’s second album crowned with six Grammy Awards), produced by Sam Taylor-Johnson, to whom we owe, among others, Fifty Shades of grey and produced by StudioCanal. The film will retrace the life of the interpreter of Rehabfrom his beginnings in the clubs of London until the height of success and his death, following an overdose of alcohol.
The screenplay for the film was written by Matt Greenhalg, reports the specialized site variety, who explains that it was validated by the relatives of the artist, in particular by the father of the singer, Mitch Winehouse. For now, the actress who will play the star on screen is not known. Castings will be organized soon. About the one who will lend her image to Amy Winehouse, the father of this one had declared in the columns of the Sun wanting “someone to represent Amy as she was … the funny, brilliant, charming and horrible person that she was.”
In 2015, Amy Winehouse had already been honored with a documentary, Amy, which won the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature. A film which had, at the time, not been validated by the father of the singer.
