(Finance) – The Steriltom Group, European leader in the production of tomato pulp for the Food Service and Industrial channels, proceeded to purchase the minority shares owned by Emiliana Conserve in Italtom, already controlled by Steriltom. To date, the capital of Italtom, owner of a very modern industrial plant in the Ferrara area, is therefore 100% owned by the Steriltom group.
With this choice – explains a note – Steriltom confirms its desire to consolidate its market position by diversifying its territorial presence with the two production complexes of Gragnano in Piacenza and Argenta based in Ferrara. The latter had been acquired in 2018 by the insolvency procedure following the bankruptcy of the former Ferrara Food.
After the massive investments made in Italtom in the last 3 years, Steriltom completes its industrial plan consolidating its perimeter and demonstrating its belief in this new reality in the Ferrara area. After all, Italtom turned out to be a production company in constant growth, in 2021 it transformed over 1,600,000 quintals of fresh product, between conventional and organic, and employed almost 200 people between permanent and seasonal collaborators, creating among other things an important induced on the territory, especially in the agricultural field, where he works and collaborates with over 150 local farmers.
“The decision to take over the former Ferrara Food in 2018 was not an easy one and, in recent years, together with all our collaborators, we had to work hard to ensure the company’s growth and profitability which started from a complex situation – he commented Dario Squeri, CEO of the Steriltom group -. However together we got a great result in which we strongly believe and we have demonstrated it with this last operation. Thanks to all our colleagues for the commitment they have put in place over the years, which has allowed us to consolidate the group Steriltom which, to date, is recognized as a leader in the Food Service and Industrial channels throughout Europe. In 2021 the Steriltom group achieved a consolidated turnover of 130 million euros and processed over 4.2 million quintals of 100% Italian fresh tomatoes and employed over 700 people “.
Steriltom was followed in the acquisition by the Squeri e Associati Srl firm of Piacenza and by the partner Silvia Bordi of the Gianni & Origoni law firm in Rome.
