Concerns in Skelleftea attempted murder of a girl under

SKELLEFTEÅ. Skellefteå has been shocked by the attempted murder of the girl who was found at Morö hill on Thursday.

Security has taken a real hit, according to the residents nearby.

– It could just as well have been our children, says a dog owner who is on a walk near the forest area where the girl was found.

A girl under the age of 15 has been treated in hospital since Thursday for serious injuries that are suspected to have been caused by a boy, also under the age of 15. The police are investigating the act as an attempted murder.

The boy has been assigned a legal assistant and has, according to the police, made certain concessions this weekend. But since both the girl and the boy are under 15 years old, the police are very secretive about the incident.

It was the public who found the girl in a forest area, near a preschool, in the district Morö hill in Skellefteå.

Everyone Aftonbladet meets on the quiet walkway next to the forest party knows what happened.

– It’s so awful, such a young little girl and in the middle of the bright day, says a couple who are out with their dog.

“Can’t think of it”

An elderly man who walks on a fast roof with poles in full swing says that he always goes the same round every night but for some reason took a different round than the usual on Thursday.

– When I would then go home and take the road that goes past the preschool, I saw how the police blocked off large areas. Had I gone my usual round, there is a risk that I would have been one of those who might have found her. It’s so awful I can ‘t even think about it.

The older man with the poles who “absolutely does not want to be in the picture” says that there are usually more people out walking along the forest area than there are this Sunday.

Just then, two more dog owners come across each other on the evening break who also do not want to be in the picture. When asked why, he jokingly answers “we are northerners”. But they would like to tell about how that incident affected residents in the otherwise safe area.

– We both have children who go to the same school as the girl, my daughter is eight years old and we had decided that in the autumn she would be allowed to start cycling herself back and forth to school. But there’s no way I’d let her ride alone here anymore.

– No, my daughter will not get that either, says the other dog owner. And it’s a shame, because it’s a perfect road that goes here, just a bike and walking path all the way from school and home.

Thinking about

Even though they both know that the police have a suspect in the act, security has taken a real hit, they say.

– It could just as easily have been our children.

A stone’s throw from the forest road are several apartment buildings. Outside a tobacco shop that has premises in one of the houses, some friends have gathered to take an evening cig.

– We think it has become much more anxious here, says Diana Sjölund.

Annika Söderström agrees that the area has changed.

– It feels less safe and I have such a hard time understanding how someone can attack such a young girl. It is incomprehensible, she says.

– I think about it when I go out in the evenings, when something so awful happens, it feels like anything can happen, anytime and anyone.
