At least 15 people have been killed in a Russian rocket attack on a five-story building in the eastern Ukrainian city of Chasiv Jar, according to the Ukrainian rescue service.
The death toll has risen during the day, and many are also feared to remain below the masses. Intensive rescue work is underway among the rubble.
Pavlo Kyrylenko, governor of the Donetsk region, writes in the Telegram that the city has been attacked with Russian so-called Uragan rockets – now he wants to evacuate 350,000 civilians from the region.
Tjasiv Jar has about 12,000 inhabitants and is located about 20 km southeast of Kramatorsk, which according to some observers is expected to be the Russians’ next destination in Donetsk. Several civilian casualties have been reported in recent days from the cities of Kramatorsk and Slovyansk.
