When the congregation could not fit into the mosque due to the intense participation, the Eid prayers were performed twice in a row, while Muslims from different parts of the world expressed their enthusiasm for the holiday.
GREAT ATTENTION TO THE AID EVENT
Muslims from many different nationalities living in and around Tokyo flocked to the Tokyo Mosque to perform the Eid prayer in the early hours. While the prayer was performed twice due to the intense participation, the interest in the charity event held after the prayer was great.
Stating that he came to Tokyo Mosque to perform the Eid prayer and to meet this important day with Muslims from different countries of the world, Jordanian citizen Ahmed Cedid said, “I wish peace, prosperity and happiness to all Muslims around the world on the occasion of Eid.”
Stating that he has just moved to Japan, Gazi Gürler said, “We are far from our country during the holiday, but the Tokyo Mosque does not allow us to experience this deficiency. I congratulate the whole Islamic world on Eid-al-Adha and wish it a good one.”
INTENSIVE ATTENTION TO HOLIDAY PRAYER
Saying that the whole Islamic world from Japan celebrates Eid al-Adha, Tokyo Mosque Imam Muhammet Rıfat Çınar expressed his happiness to pray the Eid-al-Adha prayer with the community of different nationalities and cultures. Underlining that they recite sermons in four languages, Arabic, English, Turkish and Japanese, due to their multinational community, Çınar emphasized that they conveyed the importance of Eid al-Adha to many people on this occasion. Çınar noted that they did not forget the Former Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, who died as a result of an armed attack yesterday, during this Eid prayer and conveyed their condolences.
AID EVENT FOR ORPHAN CHILDREN ORGANIZED
Korkut Gürgen, Turkey’s Ambassador to Tokyo, said, “Our mosque in Tokyo is a beautiful place where both our citizens in Japan and the Muslim community in Japan come together.” Referring to the charity event held after the Eid prayer, Gürgen said, “Tokyo Mosque organizes this and similar activities for orphan children twice a year. I would like to thank the mosque staff and everyone who contributed.”
