Landlord Ulla Vuorijärvi and her four assistants are working full time with the preparations for the reception in Luleå.
– Yes, it’s a bit stressful, she says.
Cooperation with the recycling market
There are three reception homes in different places in the municipality that are run by the Labor Market Administration and there is close cooperation with Lumire’s recycling market.
– We have a very good and close collaboration with them when we need furniture and things for our homes, says Ulla Vuorijärvi.
Over a third are under 18 years of age
It is mainly women and children who come here, a total of 96 children of all ages up to 18 years.
– Above all, it is important to take into account that the children do not have to change homes several times, but it is also about, for example, trying to get those who are of school age to live as close to school as possible.
“We are working full time”
The refugee accommodation is prepared with recycled furniture and the municipality’s inventory bank. And the refugees must be received no later than 7 August, so these are busy days for Ulla and her four assistants.
– We are working full time and we will be able to complete our assignment by 7 August, says Ulla Vuorijärvi.
