“We could have scored more goals”

Kuopio Palloseura overcame the predicament of the beginning and stretched to a home win in the first qualifying round of the Men’s Football Conference League. The team from Kuopio got a good start for the second leg in Georgia when they beat FC Dila Gori 2–0.

The supporters of KuPS were offered a reason to rejoice after more than half an hour had been played. He shot the home team’s 1–0 lead Janis Ikauniekswhose spiral free kick aimed at the bottom corner surprised Dila Gori’s goalkeeper Danilo Kanevtsev.

Before the goal, KuPS was in trouble with Dila Gori, who passed cleverly and attacked quickly. The visiting team had one top spot, but KuPS’ goalkeeper Johannes Kreidl repelled the Brazilian with his fists Anderson’s hard drive.

– A team with a good ball and a lot of pressure was against it. We then relaxed and our game opened up. There were places and we could have scored more goals, KuPS captain Henri Toivomäki said.

KuPS’s second goal was certainly completed by a penalty kick Tim Vayrynen. Referee Luca Cibelli whistled for a serious hand foul.

The second leg will be played next Thursday at Dila Gori’s home stadium.

Another Finnish team played in the conference league on Thursday. Seinäjoki Football Club lost 0–1 to FC Flora from Tallinn on the away field.
