According to the club’s general manager Brian MacLellan, there is no doubt that Bäckis is planning for games next season, despite the fact that the rehabilitation will be long.
– I think everyone is happy with the result of the operation. Both the coaches and the doctors. I think it’s his intention to come back and play at some point this year, but the time will be uncertain and it will be decided when he recovers. Bäckström is one of the team’s stars, and one of the highest paid players. But he will not be significantly replaced.
