Have you received an email indicating that your health space has been created? Don’t worry, this is not a phishing scam, but a legitimate email warning you to activate your digital health record.
“Your My health space service has been created”. Like many insured persons, you may have recently received a message in your mailbox referring to the creation of your health space. In this case, do not panic! This is not a phishing attempt by hackers impersonating Health Insurance (Ameli), but an official letter inviting you to activate your digital health record. It is normal – and even recommended – to be wary of this kind of email. After all, the campaigns of phishing – which consist of sending false messages to recover bank or personal data – are numerous, especially about Ameli. Fortunately, that is not the case here.
My health space: an online digital medical record
Indeed, since February 3, 2022, the Health Insurance and the Ministry of Health have launched a new public service called My health space which brings together a lot of medical information accessible to patients and health professionals (prescriptions, results of analyses, medical certificates, x-rays, vaccination records, etc. in an online medical file (see our practical sheet).
Since the beginning of the year, the Health Insurance has been deploying a vast information campaign around the My health space service. It communicates with all policyholders, by e-mail or by post, in “offering them either to activate their profile or to refuse its creation, within six weeks. This e-mail or postal letter informs the insured that, without action on their part, their profile will be automatically created at the end of this period.“, explains the Health Insurance on its site. So don’t panic, you just have to check that the email has been sent by assurance- [email protected]. The creation of My health space concerns “everyone, regardless of their health insurance plan […] : employees, self-employed, students, farmers, etc.” It is then necessary to activate the account on the health space thanks to a code, valid for six weeks. Otherwise, you will have to request a code again later. However, people who do not want their medical information to be accessible online can object to this, even after the six-week deadline.
