It was a strange season for Zlatan Ibrahimovic that ended in May. He celebrated wildly and at the forefront when Milan finally won the Scudetton again, and that’s easy to understand.

That was the promise that the Swede gave when he returned to European top football again after a stay in MLS. And Ibrahimovic has been a strong contributing factor to Milan now once again becoming a top team to be reckoned with. But last season he contributed the most from the side.
Ibrahimovic has been hailed as the great leader in the locker room, but on the pitch he did not get too many minutes. And after the season came the explanation: He has played with a really injured knee, and immediately after the league ended, he was forced to have surgery. He will now be gone for another six months, and will thus miss a lot of the coming season. Many have therefore feared that he would end his career.

But that does not seem to be the case. Despite the fact that he has turned 40, and despite the fact that he has problems with his knee, he has no plans to stop playing football. Now there is also new information about his future that shows how dedicated he is.
According to the respected journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic will agree on a new contract, which extends for another year. That means at least one more year of football for Zlatan, and he will reportedly take a substantial pay cut to get it all through. However, Di Marzio writes that Zlatan can count on a higher salary depending on certain achievements, such as goals and performances.
