Färjestad has dreamed of Theodor Lennström.
Now he may be close to a return.
A new announcement in Russia could mean a super signing for the club.
Theodor Lennström was a key cog for Frölunda before he tested his luck in North America. But last season he initially spent in Russia and the KHL team Torpedo, where he collected points during the winter.
Breaks the contract
But when Russia invaded Ukraine, everything changed, even for Lennström. He got the chance to temporarily sign for Färjestad in the SHL, and talk about good luck for both Färjestad and Lennström. He scored eight points in eleven regular season games, and was then one of the most important players in the playoffs.
Lennström accounted for 14 points in 19 matches and was one of Färjestad’s really big gold heroes. However, Lennström also had a contract with his Russian club over the next year, but he has been clear that he would like to see the contract broken.
The dream is near
At the same time, Färjestad has not kept anything secret about wanting to keep Lennström, who is supposed to once again have a role as the club’s absolute key player next season. And now the dream message for Färjestad has finally arrived.
According to Russian Sport-Express, Lennström, together with the team’s other Swede, Daniel Zaar, has now broken the contract with the KHL club. The site writes that Färjestad owes a certain amount in compensation to Lennström. At the same time, Aftonbladet writes that Färjestad will now have offered Lennström a full four-year contract – information that VF also has. So there is much to suggest a return to the coming season for one of SHL’s best defenders.
