Amersfoort – Panic, chaos, havoc and fear. These were the consequences of the blow with which a 24-year-old motorist drove through the shop front of the bakery and grill room Shaam on the Van Randwijcklaan in Amersfoort on Saturday afternoon, March 19. He was chasing an acquaintance who had beaten him hard just down the street. According to the Public Prosecution Service, that acquaintance ran for his life, while the car drove over the sidewalk, a green belt and the bicycle path behind him. In court, the driver stated that he only wanted to “get a redress.” But according to the prosecutor, it was attempted manslaughter and he deserves two years in prison.
