Björklöven is betting on the SHL.
Now the fans have amassed a crazy sum – in just two days.

Björklöven has for several seasons had a very strong team in the Hockeyallsvenskan, and last season they were tipped as one of the favorites to get up in the highest series. But HV71 ended up being too tough, and it was a second straight loss in the final game against SHL.
Incredible collection
It has now been more than 20 years since Björklöven was last in the SHL, but the investment is clear. You want to return, and it will require a very strong team during the winter if you are to go to the huge favorite Djurgården, which after the exit from the SHL recruited several profiles and stars.
But the club now receives welcome help. Björklöven’s fans are often praised in hockey Sweden, and now they have started a fundraiser called “Supporterspelaren”. The goal is to, via donations from the fans, raise one million kronor. The collection started on Saturday – and in just under 24 hours, an insane SEK 300,000 had been collected.
“Do a great job”
On Monday morning, almost half of the target was met, ie half a million kronor in money raised.
– The supporters do a fantastic job up here as usual, says sports director Per Kenttä to HockeyNews.
According to Kenttä, the club has the back side ready, but what is needed are four more forwards, and a goalkeeper. With the help of the “supporter player”, you should add a real edge to the squad.
– We are primarily looking for a leader in the form of forwards but also a goalkeeper as Joona Voutilainen is our only goalkeeper today on contract, he says.
