The reason is a viral trend on the app Tiktok, which means that large groups of teenage boys dress up in black suits and go to the film screening. According to British cinemas, the gangs, who call themselves the “Gentle Minions”, have behaved disorderly by, among other things, taking their own bananas with them and being loud during screenings.
The cinema chain The Regal wrote the following on Twitter, according to the Guardian: “We are not currently admitting children without an adult party wearing a costume for ‘Minions: The Story of Gru'”.
